My engineer called me back today.

They -- the parliament of programmers -- made him tell me it is a bad radio card.

He snorted.

He was not amused.

He is sending me yet another handheld.

I am supposed to get a conference call going when it comes in, so they can watch the network and see what happens.

"I'll tell you what'll happen," he told me. "It will do the exact same thing and they will have to admit that it is a software error."

"No," I told him. "It will work perfectly, and we'll both look like idiots."
